Clare: One year btwn books is totally standard for a series.
@carliMAREE “How many years did you spend planning and writing the Mortal Instruments?”
Clare: It’s now been about seven.
Clare: Sorry if I’m skipping your question, it usually means I already answered it (who dies in CoFA, is it the last bk, etc:http://bit.ly/bKasHv)

Clare: This is when: http://bit.ly/bvudyF
@AModernLover: “what are the chances you’ll make a jace/clary/simon three way relationship? Did you ever think about that?”
Clare: hahahahahaha! I guess that means the answer is no. I mean, a three-way, not with those characters, no. Two of them can’t stand each other!
“Is there a tv show or movie that is your guilty pleasure?”

Clare: Simon, yes. The others, no.
“Did you enjoy writing set in Victorian times? Is it more difficult?”
Clare: Yes, it was difficult, but I love the time period, so it was worth it.
Clare: No, the clockwork prince and princess are more figurative. You’ll figure it out when you get there.
“can you introduce me to the person on who Simon was based?”
Clare: Simon’s sort of a mash-up of my fiance and my best friend.
“what type of music does simon’s band play? Will they ever decide on a name?”
Clare: Well, they feature in CoFA … and they get a new member.
Clare: For a character to still be alive in CoG, and have been in Clockwork, they would have to be at least 140 years old.
Clare: I don’t have : favorite movie, favorite book, favorite author, favorite series, favorite food, or a favorite cat. I am categorically against favorites in my life. Am I the only one?
Clare: New York City inspired my book series.
Clare: It’s not that it’s boring getting asked faves questions. I just don’t have them. Might as well ask me math questions.

“jace has the angels own gift, do we ever find out more about it? I know he can jump high and can move fast, anything else?”
Clare: This is all the sort of stuff you will find out more about in CoFA.
“How do u write a novel all the way through? Is there something that motivates u?”
Clare: Wanting to tell the whole story. Also, fear of deadlines.
“Do you write on a particular type of keyboard? (mac pc laptop?)”
Clare: MacBook Air. I use Scrivener (only works on Macs as far as I know.)
“how much detail, besides the ones nessary for the plot, do you create for the characters/setting?”
Clare: You don’t always know ahead of time what will be necessary. You create what you think will be and discard/alter what you don’t need.
