Warped is a fantastic story! The author was creative, compelling and innovative. I fell in love with the story right in the first pages. I so love books like this!!! Warped tells the story of Tessa, a sixteen year-old girl who doesn’t believe in anything except reality. Her mother died in a car accident and she lives with her father, who owns a bookstore. Tessa’s life and beliefs change completely when her father buy a very rare book in a action. The book comes with a very unique piece of tapestry, one that makes Tessa dizzy just to look at it’s beauty.
I can’t say much about the story without revealing too much. The plot is so well constructed that each detail is important to the entire structure. Tessa will face love, The Sisters of Fate (one of my favorite parts) and a very manipulative and nightmarish witch. It’s a story that mixes today with the 15th Century, witches and unicorns, life and fate, love and greed. What is not to like? It’s a perfect mixture of everything good in a fairy tale, including a gorgeous and sarcastic Prince on a house. The characters are very well developed, I felt connected to them as if I was part of the story. It kept me awake until very late because I just couldn’t stop reading! It’s one of those books that you keep repeating to yourself: “just one more chapter, just one more”.
But the most important thing, what makes this book a MUST READ, is the fact that I have never read anything like it before. It’s completely different from all the same old same old YA we see every day. Highly recommended, this book will satisfy the romantics and the non-romantics. It’s a book to all ages, to all those who like a good and unique fantasy.
