I am more than happy to accept YA novels, ARC’s, or finished work from authors and publishers. However I ask that you read the Review Policy below before contacting me about a review request. The reviews posted on Youtube and this website are personal, original, and most importantly honest. Each book is a new and different experience from reader to reader; here is where I will share my perspective and my experience.
Genres I prefer - Young Adult literature is my main focus; however I have read books from other reading levels including but not limited to some Middle Grade titles and also some Adult titles of genre’s that appeal to me. I prefer to read fantasy, romance, paranormal, science-fiction, chick-lit, literary fiction, anything that addresses social issues, adventure, mysteries, series, and thrillers. However the readers/viewers of Life After Twilight are constantly introducing me to new books which allow me to be more open with my selections. You can check out other books I have read and reviewed by visiting our Books page located Here.
I normally do not read non-fiction, memoirs/biographies.
I do occasionally accept self-published books.
Please note: When I accept a novel to review, it does not guarantee that I will post a review. I do review every book that is read in its entirety. While I try to only accept review books I think I will like, I can not guarantee that the review will be positive, but it will be fair. I don’t take pleasure in bashing someone’s work, but my reviews will be my honest opinion. My reviews include cover art, a summary of the novel*, my personal thoughts about the book, and publication details. The reviews will be shared on YouTube as well as the Life After Twilight website.
*All summaries/synopses are taken from B&N.com, Amazon.com, Goodreads.com, the jacketflap, or the publisher’s website (basically wherever I can get the best summary or synopsis).
I strive to complete each book. Unfortunately, some books are not a good fit for me personally. In these cases, I will most likely refrain from posting a review or post the reasons why the title did not particularly work for me.
How long will it take for a review: I try to read the review titles that I receive in a timely manner but I do have time constraints considering I am a full time college student, have a part-time job, and run this website. If the book is an ARC, I will try to review the book in the month surrounding its release date, in most cases before the book is released or shortly after. If the book is already released then it may take me anywhere from 2-3 months to read and review it. Not only do I have requests from Authors/Publishers I have a lot of readers/viewers who make suggestions as well. I try to keep an even rotation of books from Authors/Publishers and and readers suggestions (also new books that I have found and would like to share).
Disclosure: The books I review are usually purchased by myself or provided by the publisher or the author. I do not accept/receive monetary compensation for my reviews. I do this purely to entertain others and share my thoughts on books which I am very passionate about.
